NOTICE OF SEPARATION
The IRS
provides a 501(c)3 number to churches who voluntarily
register with the government. When a church registers
itself with the IRS or accepts any benefits from the
government, it becomes obligated to the government and
forfeits many important rights by crossing the line of
separation. The Venusian Church is a non-registered
church and has not crossed that line of separation. The
Venusian Church is lawfully established solely by its
members rather then seeking status or benefits from the
government.
Registration
with the government establishes a church as a “State
Church” and places it under a jurisdiction that limits
many of its freedoms. The Venusian Church has no
intention of becoming a “State Church” nor will it
voluntarily surrender any of its Constitutional rights
by violating the “Law of Separation” between church and
state. Since we believe it would violate law to
register and since it would be a violation of conscience
to have any entanglement with any government agency, we
cannot provide you with a 501(c) 3 number.
According to 26 USC 508(c)(1)(A) it is legal for a
church to establish itself and it allows you to legally
deduct your contribution but because we are not a state
church with government numbers, you may be challenged in
an audit of your tax return. Some church
members have had their contributions challenged in the
past when they filed their deductions without the 501
(c) 3 number. If you wish to avoid any possibility of
an audit, then we advise that you do not file for tax
deductions on your donations to the Venusian Church. If
you would like to explore the pros and cons of not
filing for your deduction, there is additional
information available from the Church or you may wish to
consult your own accountant and/or attorney. |
